Fairview Park Hospital is proud to announce the recipients of the annual Youth, Adult, and Chaplain Volunteer of the Year. Each year, this recognition is given to volunteers who have made an exceptional contribution to their area of service at Fairview Park Hospital.

The Youth Volunteer of the Year Award was awarded to Emily Davis, a junior at West Laurens High School. Davis has been an active volunteer since 2015, and has provided exceptional support to the Labor and Delivery unit of the hospital. She has been recognized as a distinguished volunteer by the Women's Center department. The team is proud of Emily's accomplishments, and sees a bright future ahead as she attends Georgia Military College in the fall to start her associate degree.

The Adult Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Janet Martuscello, who has served in the Fairview Park Hospital volunteer program for four years. Martuscello works weekly in the Cardiac Rehab unit assisting with administrative work and makes rounds to each department supplying magazines for patients. To date, she has logged 300 volunteer hours, and has been an invaluable asset to the volunteer coordinator, helping prepare monthly meetings for the H2U program. She has been a joy to work with for PBX, H2U, and other various departments throughout the hospital.

Chaplain of the Year was awarded to Reverend Otha Stanley, a veteran volunteer of nine years. Rev. Stanely, serves the patients of Fairview Park Hospital with patience and dignity during each of his visits. Rev. Stanley's intentionality and wisdom is evident to all those around him as he helps to comfort patients and loved ones during their time of need. He continues to support his community as a local pastor, and helps to improve the chaplain program as it continues to grow from year to year.

The Youth & College Volunteer Program is available to students starting at age 15. Students serve a minimum of six hours monthly in various departments throughout hospital, in addition to assisting at special events at the hospital and in the community such as blood drives and Relay for Life. The Adult Volunteer and Chaplain Service is open to applicants 18 and older. Adult Volunteers may serve as greeters, assist in filing paperwork, and register incoming patients. Chaplains may make regular rounds visiting patients and their families, while also being available to provide comfort and guidance during some of the toughest days for our patients.
