"My name is Larry Evans and I am 71 years old. Years ago I was diagnosed with a lung disease COPD. Before entering into the Pulmonary Rehab (PR) program I was very weak, on and off antibiotics, steroids and had been hospitalized 4 times. Dr. Agrawal, my lung doctor referred me into the PR program and thought it would help improve my condition. The entire program has helped me to improve my strength, keep my weight down and overall improve my quality of life. I also feel that my breathing has improved. The program's breathing exercises, education and along with the exercise added to my success.

Once the initial program ended, I chose to enroll in the maintenance program and continue to exercise 3 times a week. I remain active outside of the rehab program and have been able to begin fishing again, cut my grass and stay busy. I am sleeping better, feel more accomplished in my activities and my weight has stabilized. I have not had any hospitalizations or emergency room visits and very few infections since participating in the PR program. I feel the PR program played a huge role in my ability to maintain my disease. If I had chosen not to participate in the program I feel I would have continued to deteriorate over time and my breathing gotten worse. I would recommend anyone with lung problems to join the program- it's not easy at first but you get out of it what you put into it!" -Larry Evans
