(Dublin, GA) For the sixth year in a row, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) was named to the celebrated list of Most Wired companies. This is the leading industry award for measuring Information Technology (IT) adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems. For an individual hospital to achieve this honor, with its stringent standards, is remarkable; for an organization as vast and far-reaching as HCA, exceeding those Most Wired standards across all of its 160+ hospitals, it is a marvel. There are three HCA hospitals located in Middle Georgia: Fairview Park Hospital, located in Dublin; Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital, both in Macon.

The Most Wired submissions are evaluated by Health Forum, an American Hospital Association information company that collects and analyzes the Most Wired data, developing benchmarks that are the industry standard for measuring IT adoption in four focus areas: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, and clinical integration. It is the top honor in the IT industry for recognizing the technological sophistication of healthcare companies, and it has been the combined efforts of all the teams across HCA Information Technology & Services and beyond that has made this achievement possible.

Many of its high marks stem directly from HCA’s commitment to the physician and patient experience. HCA’s dedication to offering up-to-the-minute ER wait times, development and integration of the patient portal, and savvy use of social media all contribute to the high grades and formidable reputation achieved by HCA.

This honor is also due to HCA’s fierce and steadfast dedication to information protection and privacy. HCA security measures are gold standards, fulfilling almost every possible Most Wired standard of evaluation.
