Comprehensive inpatient rehab care

Awarded the Joint Commission Certification Stroke Rehabilitation designation, our inpatient rehab program is offered in our hospital's 15-bed acute care facility. Our clinical rehab specialists are highly trained at performing assessments to determine if a patient would benefit from acute inpatient rehab.

We offer individualized testing, evaluations and a range of rehab therapies and procedures. Our rehab team sincerely cares about our patients' recoveries and makes every effort to get them back to the activities they enjoyed before a condition or injury limited them.

How to prepare for inpatient rehab

If you need inpatient rehab, we've got you covered. When checking in, we recommend that a family member accompany you to the hospital. We also ask that you bring the following items:

  • Any items needed to function, such as:
    • Communication aids
    • Dentures
    • Eyeglasses
    • Hearing devices
  • Enough comfortable clothes for several days, such as sleepwear and rubber-soled shoes
  • Home medication list
  • Insurance card
  • Personal toiletry items

Information for family members of patients in inpatient rehab

We encourage family involvement to help patients heal and maximize their recoveries. Our inpatient rehab offers the following visiting hours:

  • Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 9:00pm

Outpatient rehab

Our outpatient rehab program is provided at Fairview Therapy Center, which is located directly behind our hospital. Outpatient rehab benefits patients who want to gain strength and improve mobility but do not need inpatient care.

Our rehab specialists help patients improve and preserve strength and skills to help them live fuller, more independent and more productive lives. We offer customized treatment plans that can involve multiple rehab therapies to help patients recover from conditions and improve their quality of life.

Our highly trained physical therapists and rehab specialists provide a range of therapies to promote recovery and build strength and skills, including:

Physical therapy

Our registered physical therapists help patients work on balance, increase or recover strength, gait train and learn to use a walker or cane.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy helps patients recover and increase their independence by restoring the skills needed for daily activities. Our occupational therapists help patients gain strength and increase coordination in their upper extremities and increase their fine motor skills through the use of specialized equipment.

Speech therapy

Speech therapy focuses on relearning and understanding written and spoken language. A speech pathologist may also provide swallowing assessments, education or training. Our therapists help patients experiencing:

We offer a cardiac and pulmonary rehab program to help patients who have experienced a heart or lung condition, event or disorder to regain strength, decrease symptoms and improve their quality of life. With a supportive medical and allied health staff, our program incorporates education, counseling and exercise to help patients reach their optimal level of well-being and self-sufficiency.

  • Monitored exercise via telemetry sessions

Stroke rehab

As part of our commitment to excellent stroke care, we strive to help patients who have experienced strokes regain mobility and strength and recover fully from their condition. We offer a comprehensive stroke rehab program in inpatient and outpatient settings to help maximize recoveries for patients who have had strokes. Typically, patients start recovering through inpatient rehab and continue their progress through outpatient therapy.

Our rehab team

Our rehab team is made up of skilled physical, occupational and speech therapists as well as a variety of other experienced and caring team members, including:

  • Case managers, who meet with patients and their families throughout treatment and help them readjust to home and family life
  • Clinical rehab specialists, who are registered nurses or licensed therapists who perform assessments to determine the need for rehab
  • Specially trained rehab nurses, who help patients develop and carry out treatment plans, relearn skills and acquire new ones
